SUMMER
04th October 2011
Where did Summer go?
I've not had many opportunities to get out with the camera, and the species I did hope to photograph this year, Kingfishers, had a bad Winter in our area, and although I have been told about a couple of places where they did survive, the birds were out of the range of my lens.
I like to turn my attentions to dragonflies in the warmer months when birds are a bit quiet, but they too seem to have struggled, as do butterflies, the buddleia at the back of the house has only been vsited later in the season.
We did get to the north of Scotland, where we watched Bottlenose Dolphins, Minke Whales lunge feeding, and even saw 4 Orcas on a trip over to the Orkneys. All these were too far away for decent photos, so I chose to sit back and just enjoy these special moments.
Please take a look at my Latest Images Gallery to see what I have managed to photograph.
